The Skinny B

I woke up before my alarm this morning and was disappointed to find that it was still dark-autumn is truly here!

Murdoch took a wee bit longer to get out of his bed this morning-he did the open one eye squint then hid his face under his paw. It was really cute and almost made me want to crawl back in to my warm blankets.

Instead, we ran.

Beach Run at 7:15am

Some mornings I really love where I live! It was a good run, although the pup lagged a bit behind towards the end and had me yelling “Pick up the pace!”. Okay, I am exaggerating, I did not yell-not everyone can run on Monday mornings.

A saucy little breakfast cereal!

For breakfast I had a (relatively) new product from my grocery store. I was searching for chia seeds but found this instead. It is made by Hapi Foods and it is a blend of organic chia, organic buckwheat, and organic hemp hearts. That is it! With no added sugars, it is lactose free, gluten-free, wheat free, kosher, vegan, raw and I love the fact that they are Canadian! I  also enjoy the name  of the cereal “Skinny B” and their website www.holycrap.ca because they are a little saucy- and sometimes you need that first thing in the morning.

“Skinny B”+banana+a dollop of goat’s milk greek yogurt= ❤

When I first tried the cereal I was skeptical. I looked at the 2 tablespoons in my bowl, raised an eyebrow and wondered how on earth that would keep me full until lunch time. I mixed it with 3 tablespoons of almond milk, mashed in half a banana and added a dollop of organic goat’s milk greek yogurt. I let it sit for a few minutes and it became a pudding-like consistency because of the chia seeds. It was delicious and it definitely filled me up. While it is a little more on the expensive side ($12 a bag) I know that the ingredients are not cheap either. Furthermore I am used to paying more for gluten-free products so it did not rattle me too much. The company also offers an additional cereal called Holy Crap- a name that is equally as saucy. It is a mix of organic chia, organic buckwheat, organic hulled hemp hearts, organic cranberries, organic raisins, organic apple pieces and cinnamon.

If you come across this little breakfast gem then I suggest that you try it out!
